Where … to kiss in Frankfurt

You will see people kissing each other at almost any airport or railway station in the world but Frankfurt is the only place that I’ve been where you are very likely to see lipstick-wearers kissing a white wall. I say lipstick-wearers in a neutral, all-inclusive, 21st century tone. However, I confess that in reality I’ve only ever seen ladies performing the kissing. Sydney, bottom left, could be a man, an Australian or even an Australian man. We’ll probably never know.

Unlike the Great Wall of China, (the remnants of) the Berlin Wall, the Western Wall in Jerusalem or Hadrian’s Wall in the north of England, this wall is not the reason for a visit. That’s the restaurant next door (of course).

Where? Zenzakan, Taunusanlage 15, 60325 Frankfurt-am-Main, Germany. Tel. +49 69 97086908

Why? Ambiance, style, originality

My TripAdvisor review

Zenzational!

You know from the moment that you enter this restaurant that you’re about to experience something rather special. The space oozes ambiance: stylishly filled with pan-Asian paraphernalia to create a controlled opulence.

The menu follows the same theme and doesn’t disappoint: an eclectic mix of Asian dishes fused together with style and originality. The wine list is extensive, the cocktail menu less so – but the bar is very well-stocked so this isn’t an issue. The staff are friendly and professional and certainly capable of coping with questions or special requirements.

There’s little to fault here with the exception of the industrial corridor between the restaurant(s) and the toilets. I certainly wouldn’t want to kiss the walls even if I wore lipstick!

You’ll spend somewhat more than you expect but the experience will be way better than you expect so: value for money!
